Ahmad Kolahi

CEO

Ahmad has over 20 years of experience in the development, regulatory clearance, commercialization, and global distribution of surgical navigation systems. He began his career as a software developer specializing in stereo vision tracking systems and later expanded into full-stack hardware and software development for image-guided surgery platforms. From 2010 to 2013, Ahmad collaborated with OEM partners to develop navigation systems for ENT and neurosurgery applications. Since 2013, he has led the development and regulatory strategy for the Navient surgical navigation system, securing approvals across the United States, Europe, China, Korea, Brazil, and other international markets. He has observed and supported hundreds of ENT and neurosurgical procedures worldwide, contributing valuable clinical insight to product development. Ahmad has served as CEO of CKI since 2016, overseeing Navient’s product development, regulatory strategy, and global distributor network expansion.

With longstanding experience in medical imaging, visualization, toolkits, and application development, Diego has worked on a range of advanced healthcare software initiatives. He has held senior roles at multiple organizations, including HP R&D Labs, Cedara Software, Claron and Hyland, contributing to the development and delivery of sophisticated imaging solutions. At CKI, he oversees the evolution of the Navient software platform supporting surgical navigation.

Dr. Sean Chen

Dr. Chen earned his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from McGill University, where he specialized in image processing and medical phantom development for image-guided neurosurgery. He brings over 15 years of experience in the development and integration of advanced clinical imaging technologies, with expertise spanning medical imaging, image-guided surgery, and healthcare interoperability. Throughout his career, Dr. Chen has led major EHR integration initiatives, developed and validated neurosurgical imaging algorithms, and contributed to regulatory submissions for innovative clinical platforms. His work reflects a deep understanding of both the technical and clinical dimensions of surgical imaging. Dr. Tamas Ungi

Head of Medical AI

Tamas Ungi brings an extensive experience in building systems for image-guided medical interventions, with a focus on AI in surgical navigation. Before joining CKI, he spent 15 years at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario as a Senior Research Scientist, where he holds an adjunct faculty appointment. He has led multidisciplinary research teams that translate algorithms into both clinical prototypes and commercial devices. His work resulted in over 200 publications and 13 patents. Dr. Ungi is a long-time supporter of the open-source research community with several contributions to the 3D Slicer application platform. He earned an MD degree and a PhD in Radiology from the University of Szeged in Hungary.

Tamas Ungi brings an extensive experience in building systems for image-guided medical interventions, with a focus on AI in surgical navigation. Before joining CKI, he spent 15 years at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario as a Senior Research Scientist, where he holds an adjunct faculty appointment. He has led multidisciplinary research teams that translate algorithms into both clinical prototypes and commercial devices. His work resulted in over 200 publications and 13 patents. Dr. Ungi is a long-time supporter of the open-source research community with several contributions to the 3D Slicer application platform. Charlie Chen

Head of Computer Vision

Charlie is leading the development of advanced image registration technologies for surgical navigation systems. He brings over a decade of experience in computer vision, medical software, and real-time systems. Previously, Charlie was a Senior Research Software Developer at Sunnybrook Research Institute, where he architected treatment software for transcranial focused ultrasound systems in collaboration with clinicians and engineers. He also co-founded Origami XR, developing novel 2D-to-3D reconstruction and image processing algorithms. He successfully built project management workflows that improved efficiency, reduced time to market, and enhanced collaboration across departments, resulting in the successful launch of numerous product lines. Mark combines strong design expertise with organized project execution, ensuring products are commercially viable, user-centered, and successful on the market.

Hamza has more than 18 years of clinical experience in global Neurosurgical and Spine Image Guided Products launch, marketing, distribution channel management and serving end-customers. Contributing to the development of Navient technologies and expansion throughout Global markets. His experience has included educating clients on system protocols as well as clinical and operatory support to improve the level of surgical therapy offered to end-users. Jorge serves as LATAM Manager at Navient, leading sales, distribution, and clinical support activities across Latin America. He is responsible for developing and expanding market presence through conferences and client visits, and building long-term distributor and customer relationships. With over 15 years of experience in capital medical equipment sales and hands-on operating room support, Jorge provides on-site and remote clinical support and training for neurosurgery, spine, and ENT procedures. He works closely with clinical end users to understand their needs, deliver technical presentations, and ensure Navient solutions align with market requirements. As LATAM Manager, Jorge focuses on expanding Navient’s presence across the region, building strategic partnerships, and supporting distributors and clinical users with his strong technical and market expertise.

Isao brings over 30 years of experience in medical imaging and surgical technologies across Asia-Pacific. With a background as a licensed X-ray technologist, he combines deep radiological expertise with extensive hands-on experience supporting operating room environments, including neurosurgery, orthopedics, cardiology, and interventional procedures. Throughout his career at Philips, GE, B. Braun Aesculap, and other leading medical technology companies, Isao has led product launches, sales engineering, and clinical support for imaging and surgical navigation systems, while developing distribution networks and providing technical training to physicians and hospital teams. As APAC Manager, Isao focuses on expanding Navient’s presence across the region, building strategic partnerships, and supporting distributors and clinical users with his strong technical and market expertise.

Karen is a RAPS certified regulatory professional with over 17 years of experience in regulatory affairs and quality compliance in the medical devices industry. Prior to joining ClaroNav Kolahi, Karen has held various leadership roles focusing on regulatory submissions and strategic planning across international jurisdictions. Karen is a certified QMS auditor via Exemplar Global-BSI, and has a HonB.S from the University of Toronto in Biology, and a M.S. from Johns Hopkins University in Regulatory Science.

He has assisted in over a hundred cases, including brain tumors, aneurysms, biopsies, spinal deformities, and fixation procedures. Prior to this role, Karan worked in sales and service engineering for radiological equipment, managing CT and X-ray systems, preventive maintenance contracts, and government tenders. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and was awarded a Gold Medal for academic excellence during his diploma studies.

AI Intern – Software Developer

Olivia Radcliffe is a Computer Science MSc candidate specializing in Artificial Intelligence at Queen’s University. She is a Vector AI Scholarship recipient and has extensive experience in medical technology, including research in navigation systems for tumour-bed inspection and automating medical image segmentation to improve surgical outcomes. Her research in AI-driven cancer detection has been published and presented at Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery (CARS) 2025.

Olivia Radcliffe

AI Intern – Software Developer

Olivia Radcliffe is a Computer Science MSc candidate specializing in Artificial Intelligence at Queen’s University. She is a Vector AI Scholarship recipient and has extensive experience in medical technology, including research in navigation systems for tumour-bed inspection and automating medical image segmentation to improve surgical outcomes.
